Neil Armstrong......

We woke the children in the middle of the night, my son was 2 and my daughter just a month old but we wanted to be able to tell them that they were there, when a man walked on the moon.

I think we all did Pat--what an achievement.

hi Pat, we were just talking about how we woke our 6 month old son up so he could see the man walk on the moon, and then going outside to look up at the moon :)

What an amazing accomplishment. I remember it so clearly...it was when I was still young enough to dream of being the first *female* astronaut to walk on the moon. Ohh, our dreams, our dreams, how they also fly.

I was 16, Canadian teen on my first trip on a plane, down to NY City to work as a nanny in a wealthy suburb. We all got up in the wee hours to watch. Unforgettable!

i remember the day as if it were yesterday. we didn't have a tellevision since my dad was really against it so we were invited by some friends in chile who worked for the FAO. i remember they had a basset hound called cleo and two daughters, sharon and judy. i remember the street, the house, the living room, the dog and how we all sat together and watched the event together. there are days that are like that...historical days.
