Doodle day dragonflies and butterflies

I am so behind with everything, just had a few days of YUK, summer cold, or something.

This is my doodle two week late, ah well.

I really tried to doodle instead of "draw" this week. This is what it looked like when I had done a bit of digital doodling!!

I apologise, these were supposed to be in a line but blogger was having one of it's hissy fits!

It's lovely when you come across a new blog, Debra James Percival left a comment and I went to say thank you. She does wonderful things with copper and now broken glass.

New growth

This was my doodle for last week,

and this is some new growth I snapped in my garden yesterday.

I put this together with Flickr toys Mosaic Maker at Big Huge Labs

Monet and me.....

I was delighted with Doreen's choice for the May Calendar Girls challenge. This was the picture she chose.

This was a Monet I had never seen before, I thought the colours quite unusual as I generally think of his paintings as being greens and mauves and pinks. Years ago I was fortunate to live in Paris for a while. This was before the new museum at the Quai d'Orsay(which I must visit one day). One of my favourite walks was to the the Jeu de Paume museum on the Place de La Concorde which housed Impressionist paintings and to the Orangerie which housed Monets huge canvases Les Nympheas that made you feel as though you were underwater.
You can visit here Thanks for stirring some lovely memories Doreen.
So here is my card for Susan

I painted canvas and then applied velvet "lillies" and filled in the background with different weights of thread.

Sorry, I've been a bit tied up.....

Here about two days late is my Doodle Day offering. The title was the Maiden's and slayers. As you can see I struggled and that wasn't just the ropes.......

Where to start...

First of all the week brought this lovely suprise....I thought I had already received my April Calendar Girls Cards from Neki and had completely forgotten that she mentioned she was still working on some weaving. Just look, this is the beautiful "card",

Click on it to see the detail of the weaving and there is a shimmer of metallic blue on the "sky", I love things that can tell you a story you make up yourself and this does it for me. Thank you Neki.

I am late with my progress report on Seth's bundles. This is my first bundle about two months ago

and this is it on May 1st.

I did a second bundle and this is what this looks like now
.
One of the things that I find interesting is that I used an old book with quite rough paper , this paper has not stuck together at all in the same way that the catalogue did. Something in the inks and the actual composition of the paper I presume.

Catching up too on Doodle day which was a dragon...mine has just spotted a particularly inviting pile of gold coins though how he recognised what they were I'll never know!
