Can someone please put me staight on the correct blog etiquette when you wish to acknowledge a complement or answer a question raised on your blog comments. Do you
a) reply on your own blog (if the person does not re-visit they won't know you responded)
b) go to their blog and leave a comment (then it looks, to other visitors, as though you're ignoring it)
c) or both (which is time consuming but probably the right way) Any help would be appreciated.

I'd say both to be polite but answering it on your blog - in a post - is probably easiest.
Hi nice blog you have. On the question asked. If a question is asked on my blog, I answer to it privately, unless the answer can be used to inspire or I might blog the answer in a post/edit the current post to fit the answer.(showing the answer, I am a highly visual kind of person). I see it this way, if a person is interested enough to write you a comment or ask a question, it must be of their own interest to revisit. hey from a fellow TAST member.
I was wondering the same thing; so I'm sorry to say I don't know! But I'm curious as to what others think of this. I think I would answer on my own blog, where the question was asked...
I would be interested in this answer as well! Lovely artwork above.
I actually like for people to answer on their blog in the comment section because sometimes someone else asks a question i would have asked and so i like to see the answer also i think if someone asks a question in comments they would be interested in coming back to look for an answer just my humble opnion Julia
Thank you all for trying to answer the question, I guess I will continue trying to do what seems right at the time. I really like having comments and would not like to ignore anyone who had taken the time to leave one.
it depends on the comment - if its a considered response to something you asked - it really should be acknowledged in some way - email or a comment in your blog is OK - if you want to raise more questions ie tease out ideas further its OK to write a post or answer in your comments - usually the comments field is considered a like a little conversation so its kept there unless it is really interesting and worth writing a further post about.
It is not necessary to email - although many people do - believe it or not (in the beginning) blogs were considered a way to cut down on email!
Thanks for visited my blog, and the comments!Yes, I also think it´s difficult where to answer, and I think like you, it depensd on what the questions is about, you coukld do different from ime to time.
By the way, I do like yor stitching, and this lovely collage here!
This is a question I too have often asked. The problem is, though, that often bloggers don't include their email address on their blog. I try to do both, but as you say, that is time consuming.
I would like to know as well. I try to answer on their blog, but many times the person can't be found???Lately I answer on my own blog in hopes they will stop by and find it. It isn't easy to answer when there is no way to contact a person. Also if I know the person, I do send an email directly to them to thank them. Good question.
Up to now I have been replying personally to most comments, but with the amount of mail that TAST is producing and also the fact that a lot of mail is without address I find it getting more and more difficult. I shall just play it by ear for a while I think.
