Time to stop writing posts in my head and to actually getting round to typing them...
I have been in a sort of limbo for one reason or another and I have been busy but first I am going right back to the summer.
If you look on Just Hands on TV (you have to sign on) in the video clips you can see the Soust East Area Day under Stitch Fest. Our (Sevenoaks) stand is at the end of the clip. The theme was Re-create Recycle, Re-invent, Embroidery for the 21st century. Our stand was called "Trash to Treasure" and we mixed the works of embroidery amongst re-cyclable items, including a gin bottle!! If you look on the back wall you can see the quilt I made from things that included DH's pyjamas, son's ties and daughters unwanted velvet dress. I have been meaning to put the pictures up ever since.
This is the completed quilt
and here are the individual panels
The original inspiration was, of course from Jude , the first panel was the one with the stange little dog and the flower, then it was going to be three pieces and then I was assured by my dear friends that I really need six! Fortunately the deadline for the show arrived before I could add more.
Looking forward to that annual treat the Knitting and Stitching Show. DV I will be there Thursday and Saturday. I have a little list.........which gets longer every day!

Card for September..
I love September, as I have probably remarked before, it is my birthday month and always seems like the beginning of a new year to me (back to school and all that) but more of that later on. It was my choice of calendar picture for the Calendar Girls swap and this picture by Hundertwasser was my choice. (Isn't that a wonderful name, really rolls of the tongue)
All year long I thought I knew exactly what I was going to do and then....I did something completely different. How our minds work..amazing. I had been going to focus on the trees but then I bought some sari ribbon at the South East EG day and there were the colours of the house. So..
I bought this little weaving board at Ally Pally about 5 years ago, I knew it would come in useful and this is the completed card
This is a little bit cheeky, Hundertwasser (I love that word) and Me.

Whoa.....
Time is going too fast.....I wrote this post and then left it in draft, I was going to add to it later that day.....10 days ago!
I love it when I find a new blog, especially one as interesting and beautiful as Child Illustration the wonderful world of children's books illustration. Hermes also has two other beautiful blogs, for those of you who love Pre-Raphaelite art and another on Victorian paintings Thanks to Ullabenulla who has pointed me down so many fascinating paths.

Summer's end......
...though it seems to have returned agaon today. Maggie was right about the garden guilt. Everything looks tired, going to have a good tidy today. I was asked about making slide shows and as I couldn't remember for the life of me what you did I made another. Not exactly the last roses of summer but a lovely reminder.
Hope you like the "swooshy" bit Maggie.
