I've just entered into a discussion on the Yahoo Altered Books Group about altered books and I threw in my own attitude to altering old photographs. Thing is I just can't do it. Perhaps it is because so many of the photographs I used to look at when I was a child have disappeared over the years and therefore anything that has survived is precious. Having said that I love to alter them digitally or by using copies. Here's a couple "I made earlier".

Hi,
I like your blog.
I'm struggling with the same "problem" in that I cannot bring myself to alter what appears to be treasures instead of trash.

How lovely your photos are...they are so evocative! And, in this case, the idea of using copies instead is absolutely inspired!! Keep posting -- I've bookmarked you!
