For the Craft Barn challenge the choice was "art" and "road". My first thought was "Into the Woods" by Stephen Sondheim, only to find I have been singing the wrong words to this for years and also to many othr songs which I thought contained the word "road" and turned out to be "way" "path" "trail" etc....so I was becoming a little desparate when I remembered this from my schooldays. Funny how you can remember songs you learned then but can't remember what you put on the shopping list you left at home. I offer you the Uist Tramping song which I guarantee you will have on the brain for days.
My painting style hasn't changed much in the last 60 odd years.
Here's a very jolly version

Love your painting reflects BEAUTIFULLY the song you have chosen. Totally agree I sing the wrong words and yes my short term memory is worse than my long term LOL X
Thank you very much for dropping by my blog :)
What a great song to choose - I certainly recognise the tune but had no idea what it was called. Your country scene is so inviting too!!
I remember the Uist tramping song as well Pat - and also cannot remember what was on my shopping list. I learnt it from Singing Together on the radio in primary school, I think it was voted most favourite song the term it was in the booklet - so perhaps that's where you learnt it as well? Picture is just right
Super painting and love the purple mount too. BJ
It's a first for me I think but we may have had it played when we did country dancing in school. Thanks for the link.
Running late with all my commenting this month but here I am. Fabulous song and wonderfully depicted.

Very impressive painting. Even if I didn't have the lyrics, I could still guess at them because of your lovely art. Very, very well done.
