the new challenge from the Craft Barn. Although I had really enjoyed the Alphabet Challenge and because I had already given myself two challenges, I wasn't going to take part in this one. However......the Q and L stands for Quotes and Lyrics and two words are given as prompts. First ones Smile and Up.....after four days of not being able to get this song out of my head I decided the only way to do it was to put something on paper. So here it is..my take on "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile" from the musical "Annie"
I have chosen a smaller format this time. Gellie print and a mask I made from a magazine picture. I have printed the full lyrics and the creators names for future reference. In distant historical times I played Grace Mr Warbuck's Secretary in an amateur production of Annie, I must have some photographs somewhere. When the children were little we used to play a car game where they gave me a word and I had to find a song, so I don't know why I hesitated in the first place. By the way, Up, Up and Away in my Beautiful Balloon was the other song which kept creeping into my head. Off to see what everyone else is up to.

I'm glad you've joined in and you've created a great page. I'm sure we'll all be singing with this challenge!!
Fab colours, great lyrics. Good to know you have actually been in the musical so you have more meaning to the words than most.
Liking your magazine mask & Gelli Plate background:-) x
Great start to your new challenge I love the vibrant colours on this piece, looking forward to seeing more.

Visiting from The Craft Barn - so glad you decided to join in, your page is fabulous.
My friend Lynn Holland did Up, Up & Away. Another good choice :o)
Love the colour blocking on your background, it makes a fantastic foil for the silouhette!
Great lyric choice & certainly a quote to remember each morning (one for my Q&L notebook). Hope you will be joining in again throughout the year.
Love the bold blocks of colour with the silhouette. Great start to the year's challenge. BJ
Yes I went with 'up, up & away' along with lots of others. My brain was exhausted after trying to decide what format to choose for the year. I love musicals and this page aptly depicts this song.
I'm glad you decided to join after all. Great start on the challenge.
Thank you for playing with us at the Craft Barn
