Inside the house...

While the gentry waited in the dining hall
food was being prepared in the kitchen

Upstairs we found the stillroom, a delight for all the senses. Where potions and salves were prepared
and the sick attended to

after dinner there was entertainment
and the kitchen staff could eat their meal.

  1. While I know that life in those times seems so simple and thus, in our 21st century mind, "easier", it wasn't really -- for many reasons. Still, I have enjoyed immensely looking at your photos of this house and its glimpse of history. Wonderful! Thanks so much.

It looks like an amazing experience. Kentwell was one of the places we went to on honeymoon. We loved the Tudor Rose brick maze and I'll always remember seeing a carp so big in the moat it threw up a bow wave like a submarine!
